Obama vows to uphold torture ban

Can Obama make a difference

Can Obama undo the damage of the Bush era?

BARACK Obama has vowed to observe Geneva Convention bans on torture and outlawed the tweaking of intelligence data for political gain, naming new US spy chiefs in a clean break from the Bush years.

Australia’s future is inextricably tied to the changes that Obama brings about.

With the economic collapse already underway and the western world tiring of the war on terror, the opportunity is there to establish a new world order that is more equitable than we have seen in a long time.

Even before he is inaugurated, and energized by the prospects of a pro-labor president, House Democrats marked the first week of the new Congress Friday by pushing through two bills to help workers, particularly women, who are victims of pay discrimination.

Re-establishing the nation’s values in labor, war and intelligence gathering is a good start.  Let’s see what the man can do when he is inaugurated.
