Looking forward to Broadband in Euroa

with one comment

For the last eight years, I have had a satellite Internet service that is so slow it isn’t funny.

As part of the move to Euroa, I have been investigating my options.  Euroa has ADSL1 only.  There is no Optus, AAPT, or many other options available.

We have settled for iiNet with VOIP telephone supply. It gives us 4 + 6 gigabytes of data, with unlimited national phone calls for $89/month. There is a modem and connection fee of $280 up front with no contract period.

The Telstra alternative is ADSL for $65 per month plus the telephone service costing about $130 per month all up on a two  year contract.  If I die in that time, my wife is committed to pay the unused portion. Pensioners cannot afford that cost.

If you know of any other options, please let me know.
