A rant from Greg

with 4 comments

I went into the Post Office to buy a 2 gig memory stick for $9.99.

I tendered a debit card for payment and was told that they do not accept card purchases less than $10.

I told her to charge me $10 then, but she couldn’t do that because she had to scan the item.

I asked how she handles transactions when the scanner doesn’t work.

She said she enters the detail by hand but, no, she wouldn’t do that for me.

So I went to the car and returned with a $10 note.

Well, you should have seen the look on her face when I asked for my one cent change.

After all, she had insisted the price was $9,99.  I think she was pleased to see me leave.

  3. Next time Greg, ask her for a 50c stamp bringing the purchase to over $10. Put it on the card then ask her to exchange the stamp for cash. She has to, it’s legal tender.
