Dear family and friends

About a year ago, I went to have my eyes tested for new glasses but was turned away and sent to an eye specialist to check my eyes for cataracts. Sure enough, I had cataracts and did nothing about it because I questioned the value of the operations if I was not going to be around to enjoy it.

Well, time has caught up with me and my vision has become erratic. Some days things were satisfactory whilst on others, I could not read the large TV ad writing. So it was back to the eye specialist.

He told me that, in two weeks, my eyesight had deteriorated to such an extent due to pressure from the cancer and that it needed operating on straight away.

Last Thursday, I booked into the Wangaratta Private Hospital and, with great trepidation, I had my left eye operated on under a local anesthetic.
