Weekly update letter

Dear family and friends

I am over the pleurisy and the pneumonia.  Having endured the worst they can throw at me, I guess I am not ready to fold just yet.

When I visited the doctor this week, I asked how he thought I was traveling.  He said he had expected a much more rapid deterioration than this.  So, I must be doing something right.  I’ll mark that up to the supplements and the diet modifications.

The next major check on the hormone therapy comes on October 10 when I see the urologist again.  That’s when we get the next PSA blood reading.

Last week, you met Waddles and his new family.  For the first day, they confined themselves to the nesting area and we provided them with some water and crushed chicken pellets

On day 2, Waddles took the missus and the five kids down to the creek for a swim.  An hour later, only four chicks returned.  We suspect that one was taken by the usual suspect, a crow.

Day 3 and there were only three chicks with mum and dad. A search soon discovered the missing one who was flat on his stomach and barely breathing.  He was dehydrated – probably hadn’t learned to drink yet.  I spent the next four hours trying to revive him and almost had him there with regular breathing and taking in some water … and he up and died.  Now they are three. But that is the reality of nature with the survival of the fittest.

  1. Any tip for the GF, Greg? Mine is Geelong, by 89 points.

  2. Well I was partly right, Geelong DID score 89 points. Pity Hawthorn scored more.

  3. Add the 89 points to the 26 point margin, and you only missed out by 115. Well done Ray! 😉
