My fight: I am in Remission
Weekly update letter
Dear family and friends
I have just had my quarterly checkup on the state of my prostate cancer and the news is all good.
My latest PSA reading is 1.0 – down from 1.5 just three months ago and I am cinsidered to be in Remission.
Last time I visited the urologist, he prescribed a hormone tablet (Androcor) to hep me with the sweat attacks that had me stripping and towelling down up to a dozen times a day. The medication cut in around 21 days and now, three months further on, the sweats have gone completely. I still get the occasional hot flush but not severe enough to caue me to strip anymore.
Mr Goad (urologist) checked me out thoroughy today and when he put on the rubber glove, I thought he was about to do the anal digital trick but tht was not to be – thankfully. He has prescibed two more hormone implants and, if the PSA has not gone up at all, we will go off the treatment which, he said, should give me back some strength and stamina. I dream of the day …
My urologist reckons I am doing so well that he doesn’t want to see me for six months – instead of the traditional three monhs – so that is a great sign. It means we will be able to exchange season’s greetings at least one more time.
The only complication, at the moment, is arthritic pain in the right collar bone area and with the right foot which gives me hassles getting started of a morning. All things considered, that’s not too bad a price to pay to keep on keeping on.
As to the move from Whitfield to Euroa, we are currently preparing for a Clearance Sale to be held on 15th August – just a week before we move on the 24th August with the settlement of all transactions on the 27th August. If you are local enough and a Clearance Sale fan, come along to 76 Lake Buffalo-Whitfield Road Whitfield with the sale kicking off at 9.00 am.
Apart from the Grey Fergie with all its attachments, the ride on mower and my Ford Ute, we have an extensive range of trademen’s tools, Arc and Oxy welding equipment, sporting gear, collectables, craft equipment and furniture and other sundries. Come along – you won’t be disappointed.
Regards Greg
