Caringbush has been sold
Today, we signed the contract on the sale of our 10 acre property at Whitfield. The purchaser has agreed to the full price advertised but the contract is not unconditional until the 18th June.
This move has been brought on by my gradual deteriration as Pauline does not want to be stranded here after I am gone. My requirements are simple; I need access to good paliative care; I will not accept internet service less than what I have, and I need a place where there are no physical demands on me like lawn mowing and cutting wood for the fire.
We are looking at a couple of places over at Tocumwal and have to get busy to move out by the 27th August – settlement day. We are looking at buying into a retirement lifestyle property where you own the house but not the land. This is amenable to living on the pension and providing Pauline with her freedom when I end my run. The last few weeks have been so traumatic, I will not be disappointed if the sale falls through.
As you are probably aware, I have not been up to regular posting and I expect that, after I move, King Valley Online may well fade away or change it’s name to something like ‘Tocumwal Talking”
I have spent the last couple of weeks building a new website called South of the Border. It is a compilation of citizen journalism in the North East region and publishes headlines and teasers from the local blogs plus one from hte Yarra Valley. It is trying to encourage citizen journalism and has a page wit an editor where anyone can submit a post. It also has a range of pages covering classified ads, business listings, regional events along with a few other features. Go take a look and give me some feedback.
