Political oblivion

with 3 comments

Since losing the federal election, not one coalition member has shown acceptance of the reversal of political roles.

We have had the financial complaints of Tony Abbott, the spoiled brat antics of Alexander Downer, the boycotting of the “Sorry” day by five members, the intention of Peter Costello and others to not serve out their elected term, and now Mark Vale ignoring the parliament and his electorate to make some money on the side. Wilson Tuckey is doing a  Mark Vale as well.

It just goes to prove that John Howard was the Liberal party. Without him, they are an embarrassing rabble without direction and not fit to be called an opposition. Brendon 07% is showing no leadership and can only decline further in the opinion polls. Pauline Hansen would out poll Brendon Nelson at the moment.

Traditional conservative voters need a new party to support … we can no longer support the liberal/national coalition. That is why so many of us are supporting the Rudd government that has replaced the politics of fear with the politics of hope.

Until all of John Howard’s blind followers have gone from parliament, it is impossible to imagine the Labor Government ever being challenged.

  1. Rudd and the ALP are actually quite conservative, it’s not that they are “left wing” as a lot of people would have us believe, it’s more that the Liberal party is off-the-chart right wing extremism in it’s purest form.

As you suggest, they have a choice to moderate or perish, personally I hope they choose the latter because frankly Australia doesn’t need that kind of extreme form of political intolerance.

People on the far right of the political spectrum are quite sheep like in a sense, when it becomes abundantly clear that their views are in foul odour they keep quiet, very few of them have the gumption to speak out when they know their views will be recieved poorly.

It’s pack mentality, and like most pack animals, on their own they are gutless.

There is an old Confucian proverb about “the nail that sticks up gets hammered down”, right now we are seeing that occur to people like Andrew Bolt, Keith Windschuttle and others who for eleven years have been able to gesture to Canberra as “proof” that their views have “majority support”, that has now been revealed as the lie it always has been.
They wax lyrically about their free speech being eroded. Popycock. Their views are simply unwelcomed by many, they may have the right to distort the truth but people also have the right to disregard what they have to say and that seems to be occuring more and more by the day.

  2. Turnbull now says “no comment” on a challenge. I think that means Brendan won’t see the next month out and Malcolm will have the job. I believe HE is capable of greatly improving the Liberal party’s image and performance, although he’ll have to get rid of the idiots and hangers on. When are Costello, Downer, Ruddock, Tuckey etc thinking of going, any time soon? Why are they still there?
